Street dogs / monkeys in Hyderabad

Dogs. Amazing lovely animals. They give unconditional love. They are called man's best friend. Since my  childhood, we had dogs at home. Unfortunately their life span is short and our heart ache is huge. However we always got another and loved and cared the same. All were named Tommy.

I mooved abroad and quite fascinated by the way dogs are treated there. Respect and dignity. No stray dogs. Every dog has a family. Good food and shelter. Great health care. Not just dogs. Cats, Hamsters, Rabbits, birds, every pet is very much loved and cared.

Recently I read an online 'article / information' on street dogs. It's by Union Minister of State, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, in a written reply in Lok Sabha on 22nd July, 2025.
Very positively it talks about municipalities and local authorities neutralising stray dogs controlling their population and vaccination. However, when  I look around in Hyderabad,  our community, in the padt five years, stray dog population has increased in dozens. Once loved these creatures are now getting beaten up, chased away, and are left hungry and uncared.

As usual, India is again lacking in implementation. Why governments fail in implementation process? What's the use of making laws when there is no effectiveness of it?

Killing dogs, punishing people for feeding stray dogs is not the sution. Hungry dogs are dangerous. To keep them calm, feeding is necessary.

Neutralising stray animals including monkeys is the only way.

We live Adjacent to Abhayaranyam. In the past six months troubles with monkeys and street dogs have escalated ten folds and so are attacks. In the community we have children and senior citizens who are defenseless, vulenerable and prone to such attacks.

I would like to suggest couple of solutions to govt, which can be considered and implemented.  authorities and/or collaborate with other branches of government for the benefit of citizens.

1. Planting fruit bearing, less maintenance trees in abhayaranyam, far away from human dwellings.

2. Reduce monkey and street dog population. I am quite against violence where it is unnecessary. No killing. Catch hold of male monkeys and street dogs. Sterilize (neuterlize/ castrate), tag and leave them back in their native place or abhayaranyam. Central Government notification to the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023, vide G.S.R. 193(E) dated 10th March 2023, under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 already addresses the subject.

3. Authorities may engage government veterinary doctors' services for neutralising.

4. A tag after sterilising on animal  should indicate the doctor and his/her license number.

5. The clinic / hospital should bear the recovery expenses after procedure.

6. To continue work / practice as veterinary doctor, continue to hold medical license, this activity must be made compulsory. Every vet doc should consider this as social service.

7. Leave one male to every one hundred female.

8.  Government and concerned animal welfare authorities keep track of the wild animal population.

9. Objective is, over a decade, to comepletely remove  street dogs and control wild animal population to maintain balanced cohabitation of humans and animals.

10. Develop strict license program for dog breeding. Dogs are not chicken. Our society doesn't encourage dog eat consumption. So, breeding dogs n cats with no control is definitely an issue.  Couple of decades ago dog licensing was compulsory.  Now is the time to kick back  that system into mainstream as respect to all life forms.

11. Recruit volunteers n animal lovers for the greater cause.

Characteristics of successful people

Through my work n social circles I have been observing people. Why some are considered successful? Why some amazing characters are never considered successful? What are the common traits or chactericstics of successful people? What is the general definition of success to those who are successful? What makes them drive? What is success in it's true essence? WHAT IS SUCCESS?

Success defined by

IN my perspective, the first thing makes these people drive is in normal terms attention seeking and in their terms it's  'recognition'. Constantly they seek attention.  They should be first. Their voice must be heard. They should be recognised.

So, this attention seeking mentality makes them great marketers. Their primary product is themselves.

This leads to considering being rude in general in society. However, to them, they are being focused. Targets and goals are to be achieved at any cost

Another trait being successful is being insensitive. The word sensitivity is not in their dictionary. Many cases it's also proven, to achieve a goal, sensitivity should be removed from mind. If one keeps thinking about how others feel or regard, it's difficult to move towards target. Not thinking about others is the way to success.

People working for them are nothing but pests. They need money. They are not humans to consider. Use them in everything. Sometimes for marketing too. It's OK. These workers should always be thankful for every opportunity they get to serve their masters. To be useful for the master's progress. The idea of disposable n replaceable works well on success ladder.

The path of insensitivity leads to maintainance of relationships. To be successful, have to let go of weak links. They may be colleagues or friends or relatives.

When one starts letting go of relations, those spaces need to be filled in by others. Choosing of associations carefully is another trait. Friends with benefits. Only useful people remain. Anything to do with heart is thrown out.

These successful people never help anyone to achieve anything. They definetly pretend. To show off. However, in reality, they hate to give a hand to anyone who has the capacity to be 'Successful '. They hate to share the space with anyone.

These so called successful people,  are highly competitive in nature. So competitive that in their race, they don't mind to kill. In all senses.

Socially considered selfishness. However to people want to be successful n are successful, it's concentration, n focus.

Socially considered insensitive. For successful people it's just target oriented tasks. Sacrificing a few souls to achieve targets is OK!

What society regards as shamelessness doesn't exist in these so called successful people. They are functioning with dedication n for higher cause. That's all.

All is perspective. Nothing wrong. However, everything lies in the definition of SUCCESS. In today's society, success is always measurable. How much money one makes. How loud are they. How insensitive they are. How many successful friends they have.

At the end of their life these successful people find themselves all alone.

Rape - A social menace!

The so called elite of the society, sits in their cocoons, and starts judging and condemning "attrocities" of society and on women and happenings beyond their comfort zones. What is the truth? What does this society REALLY need? Whats the  practical, implementable, actionable result oriented effective plan?

I  came across a news article mentioning a new law for crimes related to rape and specifically involves a girl child, in a far away county, Madagaskar. The news states that the culprit will be punished with castration and life long hard punishment. Perhaps! Justified to their society and social norms and culture and circumstances.

Reading the article, some elite educated Indian women started a petition for similar law in the country for similar crime. It made me think, dwell on idea. How effective is a legal action to stop such crimes? What is really needed to stop such atrocities? What's my view?

If law can control crimes, there wouldn't be so many jails and criminals in them. If it is so simple to pass a law n sit back n watch the society move on smoothly,  controlled, there wouldn't be corruption, dowry deaths, child marriages, domestic violence, traffic challans, Road accidents, frauds, altogether no need for Police force.

I believe what is required is proper education. Not degrees. It's useless to expect decent human knowledge n upliftment from the existing commercialized education institutions. They are just factories producing mass samples of machines with no common sense n human values. Coming out of these huge money suking bodies, they themselves with no human values,  with waste filled brains, some of these humans don't even know why n what they have studied and how to apply their gained "knowledge" in real life. I have witnessed and stating this fact. So, cannot expect existing education to teach human values.

I started believing that it's time to bring back our lost family structure and family system and reintroduce values in the society.

No religion or culture preaches sadism. Or Tells to kill your neighbour. Or Steal from your loved ones. Or Cheat your customers. So, from where all these inhuman thoughts and actions are coming and hurting all living beings?

Once I read a book by Swamy Vivekananda. He says thoughts become energy waves and vibrates in universe. These waves will be attracted by "receptors". These receptors or like minded may get a chance to work on the thought. I can think of one example. In our childhood one popular Sunday show on TV was 'Star Treck'. We were very much fascinated by the small devices all the characters carried. Captain Kirk flips open a device to give instructions. However I never imagined that one day that device in the form of a mobile will be in everyone's hands.  Much later in my life, I bought one Motorola mobile phone which looked exactly like that device.

My point is, it's time to consciously start filling universe with positive thoughts. Make every human, since birth, think good thoughts. Fill thoughts of Respect. Respect to elders. Respect to other humans, Cultures, beliefs, faiths, every God's creation, n even every man made things. Fill thoughts with human values.
May be 'teach' children more about ethics n morals than numbers n machines n money.

It's time for a social revolution to bring back human values into the society. It's time to call out all those activists to take a step towards real positive change.

An independent psychological study on these rapists will help to rectify this menace. Taking this issue with multiple approaches only will have desirable results. Forming legal frame work is only one approach. Creating infrastructure for effective implementation is also essential. Otherwise, the whole legal system with implementation of punishment mode will turn out to be ancient Roman circus where criminals were fed to lions n

people enjoyed the act instead of fearing it.

Majority of criminals act out of frustration. Anger. Primitive Animal instincts surface out of despair. Then they look for vunarable easy prey.

Cinemas, advertisements, media are one huge impacts on weak minds n youngsters. Half naked sculptures from ancient civilisation were part of that society but not some erotic figurines in a cabaret. Earlier humans had understanding of physical bodies n functioning. Today this 'advanced' 'modren' 'forward' societies are not able to handle one revealed part of human body. Everything is sex. Again there is no free of thought expression of sex. Why, What is so natural n primitive n evolution process is  made something so vulgar? Why our actors are so erotic in the name of glamour n acting? Search Google for effects of cinema - a psychological study. You will find a couple of articles done for a supreme court case where its priven the impact of three hours of closed environment on an adult's mind.

End of the day, we humans, part of,  this unreasonable society are the reason for creating such criminals. Of course I don't deny that some are born with criminal mentality. There should be an early detection system to remove them from main stream society instead of waiting for some incident to happen and someone to get hurt.

Start today. Now. Start Teaching children compassion. Sensitivity. Start in your own home. In your own neighbourhood. Take responsibility to create a dependable enriched society. Stop being demanding and abusive. Give importance to human values.
